Rainout Procedure for Games

If you hear nothing - or nothing which explicitly says DGSL games are cancelled - assume that your game will be played. Most decisions regarding rainouts are made at the field.  We try to play if at all possible in rain unless field conditions become unplayable or the weather becomes dangerous due to lightning and thunder.  If we decide to cancel games far enough in advance of their starting times that we have time to notify the coaches, the field supervisor will try to call the coaches listed on the schedule to inform them of the cancellations.  If we know that several or all games on a Saturday will have to be canceled, we try to post an announcement on this website and place a message on the rainout number.   If the City's rainout number does not explicitly say that DGSL games or games at Riverside and/or Valley Springs fields are cancelled, that means we are still trying to play, even if the rainout message says "all field rentals are cancelled for today."

Rainout Procedure for Weekday Practices

When it comes to weekday practices on any City field, listen to the City's rainout message and follow it.  If the message says "all field rentals are cancelled for this evening," that means no soccer practice for any DGSL team scheduled for a City field, including Valley Springs, Piney Woods or Riverside.
